The purpose of the Commercial Fleet Graphics Award competition, sponsored by the National Private Truck Council and Commercial Carrier Journal, is to recognize excellence in vehicle graphic design.
The annual competition is open to all fleets, private and for-hire, owned or leased, operating truck, truck-trailer, bus or mixed fleets. Any vehicle type can win, from small vans and mini-pickups to turnpike triples.
With its distinctive, engaging appearance, the new toolbox truck design serves as a mobile billboard, providing top of mind awareness for Do it Best Corp. member stores and providing a call to action for the co-op’s e-commerce web site address, doitbest.com. The new design incorporates the Do it Best® and Do it Center® retail brands, and features a tagline that positions these brands as “The Best in Hardware, Lumber and Home Improvement.”
Bill Zielke, Do it Best Corp. vice president of marketing and international development, says the new trucks are getting a positive response. “We’re proud of being recognized for our new design, but even more proud of creating an eye catching and clever way to reinforce who we are and what our members’ stores offer to consumers. Do it Best Corp. is constantly looking for ways to stand out from the crowd of messages competing for our customers’ attention, and this recognition indicates that we’re succeeding.”
The truck design also garnered a Silver Addy award from the Fort Wayne Advertising Federation, a member of the American Advertising Federation. Addy Awards are given in recognition of the excellence in advertising and promotional materials.
